Celebrating a Year at Sea: Introducing the BlueX Cocktail

In the vast expanse of the ocean's embrace, innovation and endurance merge to harness the power of the waves. We at Blackfish Engineering are thrilled to celebrate a significant milestone: the successful 12-month ocean deployment of the wave energy device, BlueX. Developed by our esteemed client, Mocean Energy, BlueX represents a monumental leap forward in renewable energy, capturing the untamed essence of the sea to power our future.

As we reflect on this journey, we are inspired not just by the technological triumph but also by the spirit of collaboration and relentless pursuit of sustainability that brought us to this point. To commemorate this achievement, we've crafted a special cocktail that encapsulates the essence of BlueX and the boundless energy of the ocean. We're proud to introduce the BlueX Cocktail, a refreshing and visually captivating drink that mirrors the innovative spirit and the vibrant energy of the seas.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Gin: Chosen for its complex and botanical nature, representing the intricate engineering and innovation behind BlueX.

  • 1/2 oz Blue Curacao: To capture the ocean's mesmerizing hues, reflecting the beauty and power of the environment BlueX thrives in.

  • 1 oz Lemon Juice: Adding a zest of freshness, reminiscent of the ocean spray and the invigorating energy of wave power.

  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup: To balance the sharpness, symbolizing the harmony between technology and the natural world.

  • Splash of Soda Water: For a bubbly effect, evoking the dynamic energy of the waves captured by BlueX.

  • Seaweed or Sea Salt Rim: A tribute to the marine setting, this garnish ties the drink back to the ocean's essence.

  • Ice Cubes: Clear cubes represent the transparency and purity of our commitment to renewable energy.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Glass: Begin by creating a unique rim of crushed seaweed and sea salt, embodying the ocean's edge. Moisten the rim with a lemon wedge, then dip into the seaweed-salt mix.

  2. Combine Ingredients: In a shaker filled with ice, mix together the gin, blue curacao, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Shake until the concoction is perfectly chilled.

  3. Serve with Flair: Strain the vibrant blue mixture into the rimmed glass filled with ice, then top it off with a splash of soda water to introduce a gentle fizz.

  4. Garnish: Add a lemon twist or a marine-themed decoration to elevate the visual appeal, making each sip a celebration of the ocean's bounty.

The BlueX Cocktail is more than just a drink; it's a tribute to the relentless spirit of innovation, the dedication of the teams at Mocean Energy and Blackfish Engineering, and the promise of a sustainable future powered by the ocean. As we raise our glasses to the success of BlueX, we look forward to the waves of change it heralds for renewable energy.

Here's to the future, to innovation, and to the endless possibilities that lie within the heart of our oceans. Cheers!
