James is a mechanical engineer with experience spanning subsea equipment, offshore drilling, composite materials and additive manufacturing. He has designed downhole tools, pipeline isolation equipment and subsea cable products, as well as carrying out detailed mechanical and thermal analysis for deepwater applications.

His academic and research background gives him a particularly strong grounding in mechanics, materials and finite element analysis. James enjoys getting to the heart of a complex engineering challenge and turning rigorous analysis into clear, useful design decisions.
