Website Privacy Policy

Blackfish Engineering Design Ltd ("Blackfish") operates blackfishengineering.com and may operate other websites. It is Blackfish's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.

Website visitors

Like most website operators, Blackfish collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting this information is to better understand how visitors use our website. From time to time, we may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, for example by publishing a report on trends in website usage.

Gathering of personally-identifying information

Certain visitors to Blackfish's websites choose to interact with us in ways that require us to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information we gather depends on the nature of the interaction, for example a sign-up or an enquiry. In each case, we collect such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfil the purpose of the visitor's interaction with us. We do not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below, and visitors can always refuse to supply it, with the caveat that this may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated statistics

Blackfish may collect statistics about the behaviour of visitors to its websites. We may display this information publicly or provide it to others, but we do not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described in this policy.

Protection of certain personally-identifying information

Blackfish discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organisations that need to know that information in order to process it on Blackfish's behalf, or to provide services available at Blackfish's websites, and that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organisations may be located outside of your home country; by using Blackfish's websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Blackfish will not rent or sell your information to anyone.

Other than as described above, Blackfish discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Blackfish believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Blackfish, third parties or the public at large.

If you are a registered user of a Blackfish website and have supplied your email address, we may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or keep you up to date with Blackfish news. If you send us a request, for example via email or one of our feedback mechanisms, we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request, or to help support other users. Blackfish takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorised access, use, alteration or destruction of your information.

Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Blackfish uses cookies to help identify and track visitors, their usage of the website, and their access preferences. Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using Blackfish's websites, with the drawback that certain features may not function properly without them.

Business transfers

If Blackfish, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, user information would be one of the assets transferred or acquired by the third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Blackfish may continue to use your personal information as set out in this policy.

Ads

Ads appearing on any of our websites may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognise your computer each time it sends an online advertisement, in order to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This allows ad networks to deliver targeted advertisements they believe will be of interest to you. This policy covers the use of cookies by Blackfish and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.
